These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the MathBase mobile application ("the App"), provided by Nagalakshman Chirukuri ("we", "us"). MathBase is designed for learners aged 3 to 20. By creating an account you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility & parental responsibility
The App can be used locally, with no account, at any age from 3 to 20. Creating a cloud-sync account is different depending on age: a user old enough to consent for themselves under applicable law (for example, our college-tier learners) may create and manage their own account. Where the user is a younger child below that age, only a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over may create the account on the child's behalf. The account holder is responsible for all activity under the account and for any profiles created within it, and confirms they have the authority to consent to the processing described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Account & profiles
The free tier includes one child profile; Premium allows up to two. The account holder is responsible for keeping their sign-in credentials secure. Where an account was created by a parent or guardian on a child's behalf, the child does not have independent sign-in access to that account.
3. Subscriptions & billing
The App offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription ("Premium"). The free tier includes the first levels of each subject, the Daily Quest and the Parent Dashboard. Premium also unlocks Games, printable Worksheets, the higher levels of each subject, the full Table Trainer and a second child profile. Purchases are made only by an adult, behind the in-app parental gate.
Premium is offered monthly or annually. Where a free trial is offered (for example, on the annual plan), you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Subscriptions are billed and managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, in accordance with their respective terms, and refunds are handled by them under their policies. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, via your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. We do not process or store payment card details; entitlement status is managed via RevenueCat using your account ID.
A subscription is for one household. Please do not share it, or the profiles it allows, with people outside your family.
3a. Crash reports & usage statistics
With a parent's consent, the App sends anonymous crash reports and app-usage statistics through Firebase Crashlytics and Google Analytics for Firebase, so we can fix bugs and improve lessons. The App shows no ads and does not use the advertising ID. You can switch this off at any time in Parent Dashboard → Privacy & Data → "Crash reports & usage statistics". See our Privacy Policy for details.
3b. Stars, sparkles & the Shop
Children earn stars and sparkles by learning, and can spend sparkles in the in-app Shop on hats and buddies for their avatar. Stars, sparkles and Shop items are virtual rewards only. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought with real money, cannot be exchanged for money or anything outside the App, and cannot be traded or transferred between users. They may be lost if a profile's progress is reset or the profile or account is deleted. There are no random or "mystery" prizes in the App.
3c. Screen time, reminders & reports
Daily time limits, study reminders, the weekly summary and the progress report are tools to help families. They are not a substitute for adult supervision. Time tracking and the report's school-year guidance are approximate and should not be relied on for any formal assessment.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse the App to harm others; attempt to circumvent the parental gate; reverse engineer or interfere with the App's normal operation; or use the App for any unlawful purpose.
5. Intellectual property
All content, design, characters, illustrations, and curriculum within the App are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from the App's content without permission, except that you may print and copy worksheets and progress reports generated by the App for personal, family or non-commercial classroom use.
6. Disclaimer of warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". While we aim for the App to be educational and reliable, we make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular educational outcome.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
8. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time via Parent Dashboard → Privacy & Data → Delete All My Data, which asks you to sign in again before it deletes anything. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it separately through the App Store or Google Play. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under EU or local law as an EU resident.
